Firm acted for the Diocese to divert a private footpath and agree with adjacent owner on terms to extend property. Both transactions now complete.

Deeds are silent on ownership of the wall - an inspection would be needed to help form a conclusion. If the Diocese has maintained the wall for a minimum of 12 years without objection, or seeking permission, then the ownership would be with the Diocese. If the doctors' proposal for the wall are unobjectionable then going to the expense of deciding ownership of boundaries is not justifiable.

Mrs Gordon's will left the money to the Archbishop [Arthur Hinsley], hence Canon Mason should not hold the written wishes of the Testatrix, but the Archbishop should as there is no original document in Westminster. Only £500 is to go to Southwold.

Noted the proposed transaction. Mr Beavan has confirmed his intention and he has confirmed he will pay all costs.

Apologises for delay in response . Fr Mc'Auley is committed to run retreats in Ireland, so is not available. The holidays in Scotland from June 20 to early August means nothing to be hoped for here. No chance of a laybrother. Will wire if find a man.

Architect's certificate on account of works at Aldeburgh presbytery - £1200

Advises on the work required to be done to restore the plaster-work inside the tower - asks that an estimate be provided to Fr Bull. Noted that the whole of the plaster is away from the inside of the tower, probably due to moister present prior to the restoration work done 3 years ago. Need to install tell-tales to monitor movement/cracking.
