Witham Weld & Co (Joseph Weld) wrote to the Chief Inspector of Taxes for refund of tax for the Presbytery. Deed only refers to the land. Question is what date was it built. Fr Purcell has no record of when the Presbytery was built but thinks it was two years or so after the foundation stone for the church was laid in 1902.

Tooher, Terence J MrThe Rector of Wimbledon College writes to the Bishop regarding introducing Mr G Pauling who wishes to speak to the Bishop, at length, about being a Governor of St Ives Grammar School. Mentions that his father who had the church at St Ives built.
White, T A Rev SJTyped (by Fr Nesden?) extract from "St Ives Guide". Short description of the Catholic community in St Ives from 1843 to 1902. Specific mention of the transportation of St Andrew's church from Cambridge to St Ives.
Fr Nesden adds notes:
- the original dedication can be seen in the windows above the altar - one dedicated to St Andrew; another to St Felix.
- the route for the barges was via the River Cam, to the Great Ouse and then the quay in St Ives
- The window to St George commemorates "his confirmation in 1859" which may refer to Mr Pauling.
Mr N S Tomlin (of Square & Son) mentions Stedman's (headmaster, St Ives Grammar School) about selling off the school. Offer may be in place, but, Tomlin suggests that it might be possible to get a number of Old Boys together to form a Board of Governors and take over the school. Price seems to be around £1100 . The proposal is to enable school traditions to carry on, and, to ensure it does not become solely a money-making proposition. Need to modernise parts of the school; focus on attracting more boarders; drop "Grammar" from the name. Tomlin refers to his Alma Mater and invites George Pauling to let him have his views on this.

Mr Pauling mentions that there had been a meeting of the Old Boy's Committee and he considers it extremely doubtful that they will entertain the proposition by Mr Tomlin which was confirmed by the headmaster, Mr Stedman. It was considered that the price was "far and away in excess of the value of the property". Reminds the Bishop that his father has a good deal to do with the placing of the Catholic Church in St Ives. Mr Pauling would like to continue that good work but wants the Bishop's advice and guidance about gaining caontrol over the "best Boy's school" in the town. But anything done must be through the towns-people and not by himself alone. He will wire the Bishop in Cambridge on Saturday afternoon next as he has to attend Wandsworth Prison (being a Visiting Justice) on Monday to arraneg a Tuesday appointment.
Pauling, George Mr, JPSpecific mentions of Parishioners / dealings with them.
Nesden, Bernard Rev (-1999)A request to Fr Kerby to add her name to the list for those wishing to see the Pope in Wembley elicited an upsetting response. After her and her husband have provided so much support to the Church in St Ives, she asks whether she is thought of as being "second class".
Manuscript annotation: "cc. Bishop's letter to Fr Kerby"
Feeling better now. Whilst the things she said are true, she was not giving Fr Kerby a chance. He is different, had to find his way, and there only a short time. Parish Council meeting went well. Fr Kerby was relaxed and a lot of humour about. Sorry that the Bishop got the backlash, John (Fr Drury) got it all in the past. Will do better and support Fr Kerby more.
Kellock, Anne MissBishop enjoy his holiday in Scotland? Not got lost like in St Ives! This is status report on St Ives. Fr Kerby is a good person face-to-face but not so as a parish priest - "I could shoot him." Numbers falling, so new extension not needed; Fr Kerby cannot preach - indistinct, too many points; makes up his own bidding prayers; too much Mary. Really worried, it used to be a active and alive parish but now its dying and not slowly; do not know what to do. John Gardner preached and was reported to be good; but Fr Kerby wants to do it himself.
Kellock, Anne MissA teacher and long time Catechist, the author is raising concerns about the teaching of children by Fr Kerby which is confusing parents and Catechists in the parish. She is asking the Bishop to clarify the situation for all concerned.
