Copy of Mrs Gordon's wishes for the money left in her will to the Archbishop of Westminster:
£500 is to go to Southwold Mission for completion of the High Altar - masses for her husband and herself;
For the erection on altar & tabernacle at some poor mission - our souls to be remembered;
Remainder to be divided between:
Convent of Poor Clares, Manchester;
Fr G Lester's Fund for "Our Lady's Young Priests";
Fr Berry's Homes (The Liverpool Catholic Children's Protection Society).
Trusts that the Archbishop will carry out these wishes.

£1095 Great India Peninsular Railway stock - tax can be reclaimed. But this is one of several stocks held in the Trust Deed for the mission. Send accounts for last 6 years and claim will be made out.

Mrs Gordon's will left the money to the Archbishop [Arthur Hinsley], hence Canon Mason should not hold the written wishes of the Testatrix, but the Archbishop should as there is no original document in Westminster. Only £500 is to go to Southwold.

Noted the proposed transaction. Mr Beavan has confirmed his intention and he has confirmed he will pay all costs.

Now heard from Mr Beavan and Fr Rudd that the sale may now proceed. Let Witham know the sale price and type of fencing required.

Town Clerk: Notice for making up of the West End Estate Roads has been served.

Informing Canon Tonks that as no church has been erected, no exemption can be made for the charges for making up the road.

The Council still see no need to exempt Canon Tonks from the charges associated with the making up of the road in Wymering Road.

Confused about Canon Tonks reply - no exemption was to be made and no reply was necessary. But if he wants the Clerk to resubmit to the council then he will.
