Brewer, Arthur T Rev BCL (-1972)East Suffolk development plan approved by Minster of Education. All claims for voluntary schools for aided or special status must be made with six months.
manuscript annotation +Leo: to Fr Brewer about contacting parish priests in the area - Beccles and Bungay only ones to be affected?
Costs used were estimated from the 1946 data. With restrictions on the building programme placed by the Ministry al development plans are behind schedule. Erection of Aided schools is a matter for [school] managers and the Ministry to agree when they are included in the building programme. The Authority will not press for the erection of new schools for the next few years.
East Suffolk CCWelcomes Fr Brewer back from his pilgrimage in Rome. Form 18 provided [not present] The school is to be a Mixed Primary and Nursery with new assembly hall, three new classrooms and a Nursery added to the existing building which will be adapted as cloakrooms, toilets, etc. If more information needed contact Fr McDonald as Fr Brookes is away until 26th.
Brookes, John Rudesind Rev OBE MC TD OSB (1898-1984)[Assumed to be writing to Canon Brewer]
Have gathered all the required information about Beccles and Bungay for the meeting with Mr Missen [Chief Education Officer, East Suffolk CC]. Unlikely that Beccles children will go here [Gorleston] because of distance and time. Miss Gaffney says only possibility would be hostel accommodation. Keep Bungay out of it until we see how the discussion goes.
