The Bishop explains this further. On Confession his advice is to leave as is for now, until there might be a reiteration of more restrictive legislation from Rome. 70+ lady wishes to be absolved and to receive Holy Communion - this Fr Kerby has done in view of "gnadenreiche Zeit" of Christmas. He hopes he has done right in the light of an earlier approval by the Bishop for a similar situation. Fr Kerby asks whether he is right that we are authorised to absolve abortion since it is no longer one of the reserved sins in the New Code. Jonathan Salt's diaconate ordination in Innsbruck, where the ordination will be in Cambridge. Fr Kerby has booked the St Ives Corn Exchange as Salt requested for the reception (on 20 July).
