Fr Courtney to Canon Tonks: Explanation for the money

Addressed from Northampton informing Canon Tonks that the mystery of the money is solved. He gave Canon Tonks a cheque from Great Yarmouth which he had not intended to do as he'd heard from the sender that there was something wrong with the accompanying account. Then there was the 2.6 for a breviary for Fr Hyde.

Fr Hyland to Bishop: St Mary's listing by Dept of Environment; results of vote at Hemsby re use of Anglican Church

Fr Hyland encloses a letter from Dept of Environment advising that the Church and Presbytery are to be included on the Historical Buildings list. He also mentions the "final score" of the votes for use of the Anglican Church in Hemsby - 4 to 1 in favour. But will continue with present arrangements until Spring Holiday.

Postcard showing a school boy group with a priest sitting in centre. Alice Askew was a photographer in March from 1916 until she retired in 1953. It is possible that this is a photograph of the boys at Fr Clare's school in the 1920s. He did require a particular type of uniform to be worn.

Michael Ward to Bishop Clerk: Walsingham - Accounts and accountability

Michael Ward is unhappy about the method of accounting. Walsingham is doing very well but has a large volume f money which needs more sophisticated accounts. Who is accountable? Walsingham has to be made extra diocesan. Impress on Fr Connelly that you would like to see the accounts and go through them to see what Ward is worried about.

Mrs Bedingfeld to Mr Jarvis: Donation received

Thanks for the donation received from the Norwich branch of the Walsingham Association. Always good to know that you are coming and the chapel is bring used properly. On Saturday the new Bishop came to say Mass for about 100 children from all over the Diocese.
