Enclosing a copy of the will. Residue of estate after debts and fees (£631.7.4) is insufficient to pay legacies in full (£700). Hence there is a question of how the monies should be awarded. There are also questions relating to aspects of validity and intention of the deceased. For example, the trust for payment of income for the maintenance of Church or Mission at Hunstanton - what is the meaning of Church and Mission are they used in the abstract sense (a society) or is there a concrete church to be repaired?
Identical letters are being written to each legatee to ask them to confirm and determine a solution so as to avoid going to court and the cost that would entail.

A pair of new stained glass windows by craftsman Thomas Denny has been installed at St Felix Church in Felixstowe, following a bequest from a congregation member. When parishioner Marlene Strachan died last year she left a generous £10,000 bequest to pay for a stained glass window in the church, on the theme of The Divine Mercy. Looking to fulfil the request, Fr John Barnes had, four years before, seen some of Thomas Denny’s work at nearby Stutton Parish Church where he had created a Millennium window.

Specific mentions of Parishioners / dealings with them.
Nesden, Bernard Rev (-1999)Feeling better now. Whilst the things she said are true, she was not giving Fr Kerby a chance. He is different, had to find his way, and there only a short time. Parish Council meeting went well. Fr Kerby was relaxed and a lot of humour about. Sorry that the Bishop got the backlash, John (Fr Drury) got it all in the past. Will do better and support Fr Kerby more.
Kellock, Anne MissThe author wrote that he had been having a nervous breakdown at the time and had contacted to many people including Bishop Clark. He apologies if this wasted the Bishop's time. He says the Bishop will be interested to know that his Grandson was baptised by Fr Drury at St Ives. Overleaf note: both his daughters were taught by Fr Drury at Northampton Notre Dame School, now pulled down ... sadly

Parishioner's son to be received by Fr Marshall having to attend Mass at St Ives where irregular Masses, etc. have been a problem, worried about effect of "irreverence slackness" on son. Provides a number of examples of the slackness: Congregation upset at the behaviour of the housekeeper and the harmonium playing which is excused by her as it "livens up the service a bit". Asking for another Priest to be sent for a week.
