Apologises for his "silly joking" - no idea where he got the idea that Fr Arthur was "on the road to Massingham". Hopes Fr Arthur will be with us for a long time.

Distressed to learn of Fr Arthur's withdraw from Burnham Market. Welcomes Fr Richmond back, Glad the Salvatorians are honouring the agreement for pastoral care of the parish.

Sorry to lose Fr Richmond; happy to go along with his and the Provincials plans. Thanks him for his valiant service to the people of Burnham Market and Sculthorpe. Looks forward to welcoming Fr Victor [sic] Arthur SDS

Apologises for delay in responding. Tried to phone Fr Richmond to see if he had the actual map for the boundaries. Fr Hammond's letter gives the geographical data. Happy that the Salvatorians are working with us on this.

Sending two copies of the contract [not present] and expressing gratitude that the Salvatorian Fathers are assuming responsibility for the parish.

Just back from visiting the missions in Peru.
Very happy that Fr Arthur succeeds Fr Richmond at Burnham Market. Fr Richmond is an excellent priest and it is hard to realise he is no longer young. Fully support his move to Massingham.

Wednesday June 8 to meet informally with the St Henry's people. Important that the parishioners see him now they have a parish in their own right.

Bishop is attending an ARCIC meeting in Venice. Normal route to requests a papal blessing is via the parish priest.

Undated and unsigned. A critical commentary about Fr Malecki's performance and interaction with parishioners. Comparison with the behaviour and actions of Fr Heley. Possibly this prompted the Bishop's letter.

Draft copy of the Agreement between RCDEA and Salvatorians to provide the governance of the Parish of St Henry Walpole, Burnham Market, Norfolk.

Signing himself as Francis Arthur SDS, he announces that he is now at Burnham Market and Fr Richmond has left on his holidays.

Signing himself as Frank Arthur SDS, he knows that Fr Richmond is not continuing at Massingham but the Bishop's mention of rumours of Fr Arthur going there have caused him to think that he might like to do so. His health is not good but Burnham Market is not heavy work.

Ill health compels him to leave. Not felt up to it for 8 months - medical advice is to leave and take a course of treatment in the hope of better health. Sorry to leave; enjoyed being in the parish and Diocese of East Anglia. Fr Richmond ready to take over.

Fr Arthur in poor health and asking to be relieved of his duties at Burnham Market. No clear plans for the parish but Fr Richmond has agreed to look after the parish indefinitely. Next Provincial Council meeting will review this situation.

Suggest that the official hand over date is 9 September. Fr Richmond is happy to work at St Henry's indefinitely and Fr Arthur will go to Saltdean in Sussex to be cared for by his family.

Noted that Fr David Finegan is the new Dean. Provides a summary of the activities in the Parish. A paragraph on the joys and sorrows in his holiday in India. All in all the holiday was worth it.
