Scope and content

Poor reports concerning two individuals; regretting futile expenditure of sparse funds but should not fund those who do not have the ability required to be a priest. Archbishop of Liverpool (Dr Whiteside) [died 1921] has said that over 50% failed. Resigning as Extraordinary Confessor to Cromer Nuns. Despite Canon Law requiring the post he has not seen the nuns since last September, they wrote in December to say they were going. Fr Thompson is ill with neuritis in the thigh and hip and in bed from 10 to 25 February. Fr Courtney is on sick list since last September and Fr Provincial has sent Fr William Wanen who arrived yesterday - 0.3 of a man suffering from malaria ("badly hipped") contracted in British Guinea and sent home. Faculties requested.
