"A gambling addict took more than £220,000 from Norwich's Catholic Cathedral whilst colunteering as its treasurer. Rene Mugenzi was jailed for more than two years at Norwich Crown Court yesterday afternoon for siphoning off the cash from the bank account at St John the Baptist Cathedral and into his own between March 2016 and May 2018." "Fr Luke Goymour from St Thomas of Canterburv in Brandon has been arranging adoration and Benediction in the gardens of some of hIs panishioners. Not someone to be wrong-footed by Covid restrictions, Fr Luke has been taking the Blessed Sacrament to the homes of his parishioners, and blessing them after a short prayer time, either at the front door or In their garden. Lidgate, which is in the Newmarket parish, boasts the remains of a Roman villa, a Norman castle and was the birthplace of John de Lydgate, the famous medieval poet and monk of Bury Abbey.
