Programme for Visitation on 28 November. Opportunity to have tea with John Major MP. Social arranged to meet the parishioners. Concern about access to catholic education in the locality; also, running a "key catechist" programme at distant venues (nearest being at Thetford, is hard for people with work and family commitments.

Fr EH Stokes writes about accepting into the church “the late Canon’s” converts. He requests permission to use a ticket to attend the Ransom Pilgrimage in Rome – if so he will need supply cover. Requests a number of expositions during the year. Is having issues with the composition of the choir – there is some musical talent n the ladies – but he’d never use them except as a last resort. Two old men he values but their musical preferences do not match his. Has made changes to the music being used in the church.
Mrs Ridsdale, 68, is the organist but has serious illness but still fasts ans attends mass after walking a 2.5 mile round trip.
Manuscript comment: “Ans: 1. sent faculties to receive converts. 2. Cannot guarantee a supply, nor requests for Fr Banham so far in advance. 3. Make list of Bens. & Expos[itions] for me to file, to be hung in Sacristy. I allow all you mention, best put approx. rate of 40 hours [?] Lent. [?] nights. 4. Choir. I mean only boys in Parishes. Be [kind?] to the old men. [rest illegible]. 5. Does Mrs Ridsdale want to do non-fasting Coms.? Rome will not allow twice a week at most!. Jan 12/27”
