Correspondence discussing Bishop's planned visits to March / Chatteris. Some contain an outline schedule for the visitation usually including an opportunity to visit (seriously) sick parishioners. Fr Smith asks bishop to consecrate the Church in 1978 (Comment: one lad said to his mother "I want to be a priest . Not a holy priest like Fr Hillier, but one like Fr Smith") (Bishop approves). 1980, Fr Smith opens discussion on papal award for a parishioner and comments that the parish is doing well. Bp secretary provides a description of process required for such awards [Bishop Clark's operation on 8-5-1980]; personal letter from Pat following a visit. Fr Bell, 2 months into the parish, invites the Bishop and to undertake confirmation for 12 children in the Summer of 1989.

Robert Farr writes to the Pope asking for help to enable his wife and himself to be full members of the Catholic Church. He provides a detailed explanation of his circumstances from a young man being brought up as a son of a protestant verger, though being away in Burma during the war, to meeting his present wife and marrying her. Problems arise because he is divorced, protestant, married in a Registry Office: he may not become a Catholic; his wife is barred from receiving the sacraments. He wants to put this right. He has been taking advice from Fr Riley.

Colven, Christopher George RevSituation is described and as a consequence Rev Matthews is asking the Bishop to allow the confirmation of a child outwith normal practice of doing this during a visitation. Fr Michael Cassidy has been spoken to about this
Matthews, Len RevHis parish priest [James J Rigby? Named on the headed notepaper for Church of St Thomas of Canterbury, in Liverpool] suggested that he write to the Bishop. Outlines a problem with the volume of penitents for confession at Walsingham and the restrictions on hearing it during Mass. It became necessary on several occasions to "dispose of them at speed and missing out all but the essential prayers"; vet in a hurry and dash after the other concelebrants in procession. Realises that Rome has three times refuse permission to allow Confessions during Mass.
Harvey, John RevDesciara Boulos has a petition before the Patriarchal Court for separation from his wife, Mei Giamile Damian, for adultery. Court not proceeding since his wife has made a counter claim. Asking Bishop to put the enclosed interrogatory to him since he lives at "13 Marian Arcade, Great Yarmouth".
Side 2, pencilled notes: Wife remains in Palestine, has attributed bad behaviour to you. Notes on being with unmarried women, visiting houses of prostitution, walking with a dancing woman, bad behaviour with a woman
