Expects the Church to be practically complete by middle of September. Excellent workmanship - sure it will be a very great success. Requests £30 cheque for a new mission at Cobham and has to purchase a [?] for £1500 in which to carry it on - has £950 and the balance is due Saturday 31st and am begging everyone. Have spent £4000 of own money on the museum at Earlsfield, so quite used up and not much Architectural work going on.

Donation of £400 advised by Fr Scott for purchase of land.. Have £100 in funds. All in fund account. Await Bishop to select site.

Requesting the endowment instalment - many large bills to be paid. Season is very short - weather not propitious. Asks for advice on completing a form [not present] being neither renter nor owner of the presbytery.

Asking if a decision was made regarding the balance of the Mission Fund as his builder has to be paid for extra work.

Not heard anything about the vouchers required by the Tax people. Returning the plans [not present] of the Southwold property with answers to the queries.

The Advisory Board of Finance offer of half the sum required for repairs. However, sees no way of finding the other half from own means. A full application was not possible as the repairs had to be done at once as weather was threatening. Have only asked through necessity.

Need vouchers for Endowment and Rebate as Tax demands being received. Glad of half year Endowment and rebate since 1925.

Acknowledging receipt of endowment cheque. Season has ended being practically only one month - "no money about!"

Requests £14.5.0 from Mission funds towards cost of Electric Lighting in the new Church and house. Encloses the builders certificate for £350.

Expense estimates to be forwarded. Not received the half-year endowment cheque. Witham & Co have dealt with the Income Tax - paid their fee of 10/6. Congratulations on the recent honour which you have received - well deserved.

Bishop has assigned £100 to the New Church Fund asking Canon Tonks to make arrangements to lodge it with the bank, Barclays & Company

Request received to put broken glass on the wall separating the church from the garage next door. Canon McBride sees nothing wrong with agreeing but suggests gaining the Bishop's views.

Encloses details [not present] of work done on presbytery and sacristy. A lot need to be done to make the place habitable - and there are three rooms yet to do. Fr Pritchard had done much when here - what it was like before...? Still more to do. Church at Halesworth not been touched since it was built 17 years ago.

Bill for work on the presbytery (which was in a 'crummy'' state) has come to more than expected - £3344-77. Have £1500 in the bank but £500 is needed for work on Halesworth church. Can you help out?

Writing to Peter [?] thanking him for pension advice. Encloses a cheque for £1265-10 and lists the collection elements, plus £1000 as a parish deposit. That will be required for church and tower repairs - estimates of £5000-6000 when the church only cost £2000 to build.
