Bishop thinks the programme is excellent. One request. He wishes to administer a Baptism in Brantham on 14 October (part of St Mark's parish, Ipswich). Ann has organised well and arranged supper on Saturday with John & Pauline Matthias - are you coming too?
Thanks for the generous cheque for church funds. Have already made £1000 in fundraising activities last year and so start this year more optimistically than usual. Append application for dispensation for a mixed marriage. They had though her form and venue for their marriage was a choice for them and they were married at CofE in Ingoldisthorpe by Rev Potts of Heacham. Surprised to learn that their marriage was not valid under Catholic Canon Law. Despite not seeing eye-to-eye with Rev Potts, credit should go to him because he suggested they should see me. Thanks for the memento for the repose of the soul of my youngest sister, Christina, who died on 26th after seven years of cancer.
leave for non-fasting communion permission for Mrs Emmaline Ann Shauve. Tax to pay 5/1 (23 lira) to be sent to the Bishop for forwarding to Rome. Nothing for Sister Huberta, presumably gone to another congregation for the Religious.

Ordination applicants need to be in full communion for a while before Rome considers them. Outstanding matter needs to be addressed prior to the other becoming a candidate. Need to consider the reader's future role carefully. Chris Toller will be in touch with Paul Hirons about the bungalow soon.
Good news regarding Cyril Banham's ordination. Have written to Fr Squirrell re number of priests required. Requests return of the papers associated with the "Chaplow & Such" case as the woman involved has asked for them. Statistics included [not present] do not include Confirmed - ten from Southwold and one from Lowestoft
Bishop's decision in the "Chapelow-Such" matrimonial case has been passed to the parties - they will continue to live as they have done for the last two years. The woman is anxious for the papers relating to the case. Enclosed [not present] a petition for a mixed marriage, no banns they wish a very quiet wedding. Fr Chadwich SJ coming for Christmas, can he have faculties for confession?
Pointed observations on British Council of Churches and priests being married (before or after ordination). Mentions that neither Our Lord nor St John the Baptist said one word to criticise the politicians and economic institutions at the time [supported by several Latin quotations].
