Celebration & Dedication of Marriage - Connolly/Newton

pg 1-2: Outline of the circumstances, issues and actions arising out of the service for Mr Connolly and Miss Newton. The priest, Fr John Murphy, was not empowered to perform this ceremony according to the regulations of the Roman Catholic Church. Bishop Clark intervened after discovering facts about the ceremony including that 150 people had attended.

New Paths to Christ

The Religious renewal which has taken Roman Catholics "along new ways and strange paths", will be strongly reinforced by the Bishop of East Anglia, the Rt Rev Alan Clark, when he addresses 20,000 from every corner of his diocese tomorrow (Sunday June 30), at 3pm.
His message is that the reappraisal and renewal signposted by the Second Vatican Council have transformed and enriched the force of the Church.

Bishop goes by Jet, Jeep and Horse

Bishop Clark is travelling, with Fr Philpot, to Bolivia to visit one of his priests, Fr John Drury. Fr Drury has been in South America for 5 years and the last 12 months have been spent in the foothills of the Andes. He returns to East Anglia in the Autumn and has sent an open letter to all those in the diocese who have helped him with the prayers and alms.

Catholic Diocese celebrates Tenth Birthday

79,000 Catholics celebrate the tenth birthday of their diocese on Sunday 1 June. Provides a short history and some comments from Bishop Clark, the first Bishop of the new diocese. June will be a "month of festival" ending with a Mass of Thanksgiving attended by church leaders including the Bishop of Norwich, Rt Rev Peter Nott.
