Pleased Fr Malecki is to replace Fr Richmond at Burnham Market.
Regarding Blakeney (Fr Weaver is in agreement) - Fr Malecki to be Priest-in-Charge; Responsibility to include marriages, funerals, etc; Blakeney remain part of Walsingham/Wells parish but pastoral care transferred to Burnham Market; house at Blakeney to be looked after by the local Catholic committee.
Hope that Georgio can offer Mass there in a week's time.
Clergy deployment in East Anglia a bit opened compared to the Provincial's need for tidiness. Would like Fr Malecki to provide Sunday and Holy Day of Obligation masses at Blakeney; noting he prefers not to take over Blakeney until he knows his commitments to Burnham.
Clark, Alan Charles Rev DD (1919-2002)Regarding the position of priest-in-charge at Blakeney. Canon Higham not going until 20 October, income limited and sent to parish priest in Wells. Need to negotiate to ensure that the living is not too mean there. Can help but cannot provide support. Any ideas?
Clark, Alan Charles Rev DD (1919-2002)Bishop confirms to Fr Gaudoin-Parker that he is appointing Fr Gerard Langley as Diocesan Director of the Priests' Eucharistic League.

Thanks the "Canon" for his addenda and will include them in any new edition. Thanks him for his presence in Blakeney.
Sensible case for Mass timings - ensure it is a relief from the Sunday programme rather than an increase.
Get quotations for work on house and garage.
Was unwell on Sunday and had a few days in bed with a French bug - after a week's conference in Paris.
Help if say the Bishop is due to "reserve" the Blessed Sacrament at Langham about 3pm. Happy to agree that the "Pilgrims" call on Walsingham and look in on you - but do not do anything big - prefer the Sisters to go in quietly, said a prayer in the Anglican church and went on their way.
"Our Lady of Walsingham really blossomed at Wembley: like an ikon on the Altar."
Bishop praises Fr Langley's generosity but Fr Brendan Peters is unlikely to want to go to Blakeney (Bishop did offer it to him before Fr Langley). Similarly Fr Joe Parr (and housekeeper, Betty) will not want to move from his home in Peterborough.
Clark, Alan Charles Rev DD (1919-2002)Fine about Rome trip. Finances highly credible - but carry on with the weekly £15 form the Sick Clergy Fund (explain more when we meet). Uncle situation - good for a time but eventually he will need proper care.
Clark, Alan Charles Rev DD (1919-2002)Re roof - contact Cullen, a surveyor.

Bishop says he will need Fr Lloyd's help in Blakeney. Concern about Fr Lloyd's eyesight, his inability to drive a car and possibility of feeling isolated in Blakeney. None of the big parishes can absorb a "curate emeritus".
manuscript ps: Do stay and help Peter Allen in Walsingham. Blakeney does need occupancy. Contact VG when it is known that Peter Murphy is returning to Westminster diocese.
Tony Shryane has pressed Peter Murphy to stay on because of Fakenham - Fr Chris Cook will take over there on 10 June. Hoping you can go to Blakeney once Fr Murphy disappears back to London. Answer to glasses problem: have two pairs!
Clark, Alan Charles Rev DD (1919-2002)Bishop say Fr Gerry Langley must have a housekeeper - but the house is very cold with no central heating. Bishop has said that Fr Langley is appointed to Blakeney until he can no longer manage. Real issue is Diocesan attitude to the house; without central heating it will be hard of Fr Langley and in due course make it difficult to attract another priest. Possibly £2,000 investment required - parish might fund this if they thought there is an intention to keep a resident priest at Blakeney? Asks Fr Wilson to think about it and get back soon.
Clark, Alan Charles Rev DD (1919-2002)Fr Langley's deteriorating health understandably gives cause for concern. There are no plans yet for Blakeney. It is a mission station and part of Walsingham/Wells parish, it is not a parish in its own right. Pastoral charge of Blakeney upon Fr Langley's death by another priest is not predictable. Bishop hopes the committee will continue to be responsible for the practical "running of the church".
Clark, Alan Charles Rev DD (1919-2002)"Mr Dear Joe, I am very glad to hear that you are able to go to Blakeney, but sorry to hear that you have got to the stage when you have to retire - what is the matter? However, I have great pleasure in giving the faculties you ask for confessions and preaching, subject to the restrictions in the Code. I hope to see you some time at Blakeney, but I am just off to Rome until mid-December. I hope that you will have better health; Blakeney is a delightful place, but has very few Catholics. I presume you will have a housekeeper as it would be very lonely without one. "
Parker, Thomas Leo Rev (1887-1975)Thanking Fr Allen for his kindness and hospitality during the visitation. Will get back to him about Blakeney after Easter.
Smith, Peter David Gordon Rev LLB JCD (1943-2020)Appreciates and encouraged when receiving courteous and supportive letters rather than the vitriolic and condemning.
Smith, Peter David Gordon Rev LLB JCD (1943-2020)Sorry to hear Fr Lloyd would like to leave Blakeney; he has done a wonderful job coping with such meagre resources even if topped up with Ransom money. Arrangements are being made for the Visitation on 28 and 29 March, need to arrange a meeting with Fr Lloyd too. As for Clare [Richards] he feels sorry for her and of the nonsense spoken about the whole thing which perhaps can be put to rest now.
Smith, Peter David Gordon Rev LLB JCD (1943-2020)Thanking Fr Lloyd for his kindness and hospitality during the visitation and for getting his Crozier to Wells. Will think about Blakeney and have a talk with Fr Allen.
Smith, Peter David Gordon Rev LLB JCD (1943-2020)Will be instructing Chris Toller to deal with both presbyteries and make arrangements for letting them.
