Correspondent"Secret and Confidential" letter burnt. Amazed to receive this letter. Instructions to a Catholic Priest come from his Bishop only. So will not promise to obey the Army Council's order regarding prayers for Russian subjects. Hence tender resignation as Officiating Chaplain to the RCs at Bircham - but will offer services in an unpaid capacity - if the Wing Commander will offer transport.

Imprimatur Arthur Riddell, Bishop of Northampton
Bishop is looking for signs of healing and growth. Four points made by the chair:
- on-going situation in Hunstanton Parish - needs to be explored to make progress
- Dersingham people feel hurt, rejected and isolated
- Lack of communication is a problem
- Weekday Mass may help heal/restore Dersingham people.
Discussion on the above points.
