The group, who describe them- selves as “regular pilgrims” to the shrine, have appealed against the East Anglia Historic Churches Committee’s (HCC) refusal of listed building consent for the development. The Diocese of East Anglia launched a six-week consultation on its proposal to build a new Catholic primary school at the Hampton East development in Peterborough. A consultation document was published to provide details about the proposed school. Consultation drop-in sessions were at:

St Thomas More Catholic Primary School on Wednesday, 18th September [2019] at 7pm
Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School on Tuesday, 1st October [2019] at 3.30pm
Hampton Vale Community Centre on Monday, 7th October [2019] at 7pm

Helen Bates, Assistant Director for Schools: “It is really important that as many people as possible respond to this consultation by completing the response form. The final decision as to whether the new Catholic primary school can go ahead will be made by Peterborough City Council, and the responses we get to our consultation will be important for the City Council in helping to determine how much support there is for the new school.”

Story 2: "The annual Red Mount procession at Kings Lynn went ahead as usual but in an unusual
manner, writes Stephen Farr. The solemnity of the Assumption of Our Lady is usually marked by the carrying of the statue of Our Lady, which was granted to the pontifical National Shrine of Our Lady of
Walsingham in King's Lynn by Pope Leo XIII in 1897. The traditional route of the procession goes from the parish church of Our Lady of the Annunciation to the Red Mount, which is a late 15th-century wayside chapel for pilgrims on their way to Walsingham, and which houses two chapels."
