Letter accompanying his signed Profession of Faith. Arrived last evening and looking forward to working in the diocese and the bracing air of Yarmouth should keep him very fit.
Manuscript annotations: "Ans. Hope to make your acquaintance soon. Very keen on good relations between Clergy, [?] & reg. in this Diocese. It is our boast! Wd. not be best for your Nuns to have as Extraordinary one who had always doing business with them? Fr Thompson RIP acted for them, but I did not care for this [?]. Feb 12/27"
Mgr Freeland informed him that the Bishop is quite recovered and able to resume work. All is well at Yarmouth for Lent - giving a series of sermons on the Passion and the Fundamentum of the Exercises. Number of converts is steadily increasing. The sisters in the convent are doing excellent work and seem very happy.
Manuscript annotation: "[illegible] Thanks. Apr. 2/28"

Acknowledges Bishop's good wishes for his health. Agrees that the nuns in the convent adjacent should have their own "Extraordinary" not from St Mary's. Notes his Deanery is St John's Norwich. Father Cuthbert's relapse works against his hope to return to British Guiana.
Dinley, Patrick Rev SJRequests permission to use SJ Ordo when saying mass at the convent, on SJ Feast days. The fishing season is successful with many boys & girls coming from Donegal who put his own people to shame with their mass attendance.
Dinley, Patrick Rev SJFaculties as Extraordinary Confessor at Lowestoft Convent expire 2 March - renew? Three years since last Confirmation; invitation to visit on one of three dates in June. Dowling, Sean Rev OSAOSA happy to comply with the Bishop's request that they stay at least until September 1995. To help planning relocation, can the Bishop say when he is likely to replace the friars? Will probably reduce numbers as the time gets nearer.
