His action on cheques to Ollard. The stained glass windows arrived yesterday but no candlesticks. Fear they must have been sold at the Sale. What a nuisance! Thanks for congrats on anniversary of consecration, wishes someone else had had the honour.

Bishop Cary quotes a letter to Fr Delaney dated 19/12/1919 from Bishop Keating. In it the £110 from Sr Superior (Ursulines) for 4 annual Masses and a commemorative tablet in the new [Aldeburgh] church has been invested by the Board of Finance. It is the wish of the community that £50 given to Canon Tonks last August should be added to the larger sum and used for the Endowment or Building Fund. Bishop Keating is willing for the surplus to be used as such but notes that she does not wish it to be used the temporary Oratory.
Bishop Cary directs Canon Tonks to look at the books at about or anterior to that date.

Seems to have been a muddle about vestments, etc. which you asked for from Ass. Perpet. Adoration, Horseferry. Bishop has a list of items from Fr Phillips and is writing to the Assoc. It will come right. They seem to have been very generous.
Bishop grants faculties to the Jesuit Father who is going to stay with the Lyons at Christmas.

Chides Fr Wallace for being casual in not giving names of Australians. Fr Clare is asking a lot for them. Tells what Fr Clare & they must do. Unless done he can't possibly grant his request to marry them. Re MS about Wills. Do what you like but don’t incur debt.
Annotated postscript: "You have to send the certificates of their marriage to the parish of each, that is why you must know where they were baptised. Please be very careful and accurate about this."

Returns the collections book as requested. Does not think Canon Tonks has any to lend. Is there a desperate need to hurry? Better to keep the Army Hut for entertainments. Keeping well in this rather trying muggy weather?
