Thanked parishioner for the letter

Allen, Peter Rev SM BA MThNoted that Fr David Finegan is the new Dean. Provides a summary of the activities in the Parish. A paragraph on the joys and sorrows in his holiday in India. All in all the holiday was worth it.
Dasan, Vima Rev SJWishing for permission to have an extended visit to his family in India. Cover will be arranged by Fr Shryane so that Fr Michael Rear will say Sunday Mass at Burnham Market in his absence. The congregation have offered to make a retiring collection to assist in purchase of the ticket - but need the Bishop's permission to allow this as it is for personal use.
Dasan, Vima Rev SJRecommends Fr David Finegan for the new Dean
Dasan, Vima Rev SJFeast of the Assumption Mass was celebrated at North Creake Abbey on 15 August at 4pm. Fr Finegan gave permission. A parishioner's history is attached along with a newspaper cutting. Included a copy of his new small book for the Advent Season
Dasan, Vima Rev SJHas been asked to be the chaplain for the Tamils in London pilgrimage to Lourdes. Has arranged cover whilst he is away (Fr Rear & Fr Heley)
Also, annual leave to visit mother in India - will do this at his own expense.
Visa expires on 1st June 1999. So asks the Bishop to write a letter for Immigration to renew it.
Dasan, Vima Rev SJEncloses a clipping from The Independent - A letter from the Anglican Bishops about the Moral Policy on Iraq. They have done some clear thinking on the moral problems of war in the Middle East. Fr Lloyd wishes his own hierarchy would say something.
Lloyd, Thomas Rev CP (1932-1998)Would like to return to retreat work and so intends to leave Blakeney at end of June.
Clare Richards is retiring from teaching. She and her husband are friends and Fr Lloyd says there may be a celebration at Sion Convent in Notting Hill (the site of the old Corpus Christi).
Thanks the Bishop for the grant of £1000 towards the £2000 to rewire the house. Able to raise £1000 for the Church electrics last year - so expects to do the same again. Will write to Mgr Stark about how the money will be spent.
Lloyd, Thomas Rev CP (1932-1998)Invitation to a get-together at the Priest's House in Blakeney to thank all those who have helped. Not lavish - nibbles and drink and chat. Thanks for the Ransom Guild cheque - make him feel quite rich. Encloses an outline of discussions on the Common Good.
Lloyd, Thomas Rev CP (1932-1998)Arrangements over meeting to discuss future of Fr Lloyd and Blakeney. Not yet told the congregation, but the Parish Committee are aware. Agree with common sense remarks about Clare Richards.
Lloyd, Thomas Rev CP (1932-1998)Drawing the Bishop's attention to the fact that Blakeney only just broke even in 1997 and that was with the help of other monies such as the Poor Parish Fund. Included an extract from a parishioner's letter (Colonel Bernard Crowe) who was a member of St Peter's committee.
Lloyd, Thomas Rev CP (1932-1998)Appreciated the balanced review of Clare Richard's book (in Tablet and The Key). Good to have the Bishop's assurances that despite deficiencies there is nothing "heretical" in her views on Resurrection, etc. Very helpful to have a firm statement in even tempered language. Fr Lloyd receives long, scathing typed letters about the heresies in his own sermons.
Lloyd, Thomas Rev CP (1932-1998)Acknowledging the Bishop's thanks and thanking the Bishop for the meal he paid for at the White Horse. Happy to know that the Crozier caught up with him at Wells.
Lloyd, Thomas Rev CP (1932-1998)Summarises meetings on 18 February 1999 and 16 September 1999.
In the first he describes following up on Bishop's suggestion for an extension - plans drawn up, planning permission obtained; cost £25,000.
In the second a number of options [listed] arose following a suggestion from the Vicar of Blakeney to share St Nicholas' church and use St Peter's as a combined hall. Need to discuss with the Bishop on next steps.
Feeding back reactions from the community at Blakeney following Fr Langley's death and plans for the presbytery.
Suggests the Bishop should meet the couple who might rent the presbytery in Wells
Requesting two Eucharists for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and suggesting reciprocal preaching at the RC and Anglican churches. Anglican vicar of Walsingham is Keith Haydon.
Rear, Michael RevQuestioning the status of particular (potential) ordinations for married men. Southwell House has problems and the local authority is involved - problems relate specifically to its management. Issues around a reader who "declaims St Paul like a Shakespearian soliloquy".
Thanks for letting Paul & Joan have the bungalow at Blakeney. His status as a Deacon for the parish or Walsingham?
