Abbot Butler writes about the Bergholt-Monica question - the Abbess can progress Sr Monica if she thinks right. Anne Todhunter living in London now - they have taken a house for six months in Lexham Gardens - "Poor Anne! I hope it will work"
Thinks the Roman decision on the Bergholt case is very clever.
The two priests for Gillingham are just the quiet simple types Mrs Kenyon would like to have. Delight to help her out after the many kindnesses by her and the family to me over the years.
Thanks for kind wishes on his election to Abbot of Downside. Visited Beccles some weeks ago and much impressed by this beautiful church. Some day it will be a strong centre of religious life in the district.

Outlines some family difficulties within Gillingham Hall not being helped by Fr Pillot's abusive letter to the Colonel. Glad to see the end of the line of foreign priests at Gillingham and with the removal of Fr Pillot the tyranny has come to an end. "A sad business."
Cyril is in a good place for him at Woburn Sands and will stay there for a good time. Good idea for his sister to move in with him and to get him out of "lodgings"

Sacra Congregatio de Religiosis (1908-)Going to Sudbury next week to take on a mission whilst Fr Heptonstall is recuperating abroad. Hopes the Diocese will not be split up as he hopes to learn about it. Helping Fr Campbell preach - likes it. Enjoyed his 3.5 months in Sheringham.
