Re Estate of Mrs Mary Ten Broeck. Certifying that he attended American Consulate & made deposition in answer to interrogatories attached to commission. Has now found original letters not available at the time, details them & attaches them.

Mrs Ten Broeck's letter asking Diocese to pay £125/yr to March for unexpired period of her undertaking has been found. New York Commission now "closed" so letter may not be used as evidence. Sends enclosures showing he did his best.

Re Will of Mrs Ten Broeck. Enclosed letter from Mrs T. B. asking Diocese to undertake promises to Fr Allen. Gives details of her original promise, the degree of her fulfilment & amount owing Diocese. Bequest to March is generous but will not reimburse Diocese.

Re Mrs Ten Broeck. Sending him completed & certified affidavit. Original promise of £125/yr made by her to Fr Allen who reported it to Bishop. 1st payments made by her in cash when resident in March. At outbreak of war Bishop paid on her behalf. Details his claim.

Re claim of Bishop against the Estate of Mrs Ten Broeck. Original promise in claim without consideration & letter of Mrs T Broeck of Aug 3rd 1914 not enough to support claim. Estate may be unable to pay legatees so Executors can't pay without it being passed by Court.

3 line letter doubting the justness & validity of his claim for £687 10s against estate of Mary O. Ten Broeck, deceased & reject the claim.

Advising Bishop he has received letter from his New York House acknowledging his letter enclosing Proof of Claim against Mrs Ten Broeck's Estate for £680 10s with supporting papers. New York are filing Proof of Claim at once & will keep him advised.

Sends money & asks him to buy specified books. Believes he will need to work hard to establish Mission in March. Wishes she could help pay off mortgage but regrets she is unable to pay more than she is doing.

Sorry about delay in sending cheque; directions were misunderstood. Hopes Post Office will want garage or that he finds another tenant. Are mother & daughter in residence? Is sure influence of holy priest results in change for better towards RC Church.

Notes headed "Letters 1914". Details of failure to pay cheques with suggestions to ask Bishop to advance annual payment of £125. Notes provision in Will for extra £125 to be paid to Bishop in case she [Mrs Ten Broeck?] dies before 1917.

Estate of Mrs M. T. Broeck insufficient to pay legacies in full. Will make present payment of 47%; final payment depends on result of litigation re his claim against Estate. Sends receipt for £1, 222 [47% of legacy] for signature. Cheque to follow when receipt received

Bishop & Fr Allen had several hours before American Consul re Mrs T. Broeck's promise to pay £125/yr to March for 5 yrs. Her original letter (3 Aug 1914) asking him to pay rest of instalments not found but American court has copy of it & his reply. Request urgent search at Northampton for the original; wire status and send letter by registered mail immediately! Depositions being despatched to America on Saturday...

Re Mrs Ten Broeck. Gives details of her payments & debts to diocese. Presumes it will be alright to say original agreement was made with him although he has no proof of it. He can find no letters referring to payments earlier than December 1912.

Sends document re Mrs Ten Broeck. Asks him to fill in information re clauses in proof of claim. Asks him to give his opinion on various statements. All at request of Bishop of Northampton

His letter not forwarded to Bishop. Assumes it is now too late. Asks for advice. Feels they have right to recover payment from Estate of Mrs T. Broeck for maintenance they advanced to Fr Allen at her request to him amounting to £312. Gives further suggestions.

Executors have done nothing to wind up Estate of Mrs T. Broeck. Until real estate is sold, Estate has no funds. Validity of amount for erecting church at March recognised but not claim for reimbursement. Asks for any 1917 letters from Mrs Ten Broek.
