Acknowledging Bp Keating's instructions to act for Southwold Misson, as informed by Fr Mason. Will was dated 31 March 1910. Lists beneficiaries of the Will, including Southwold Mission - £3,000 for the erection of a church and residence for the priest; £100 per annum; £100 legacy for Fr Mason. Mr William Auld has requested the papers relating to the Will, but solicitor thinks it not proper to release them until the probate has been granted.

Thanks the Bishop for authorising his appeals; explains costs associated with appeals can outweigh income from them. £100 only in Church Fund. Beautiful site (paid for by the Benefactress, who built Lowestoft Church); 60 in congregation (from 12/15 at start); decent chapel in town with a fair rent - need a priest's house more than a church. The wooden chapel from Birmingham suggested by the Bishop would be too small to accommodate 150-200 in Summer.

Need £14-5-0 out of Mission's funds to pay for electric lighting in the new church and presbytery. Altar, awaiting estimates, can be built for when the church is opened and consecrated by the Bishop. Lack of labour hinders work progress. Accepted masses from Fr Demford of Westminster [list not present]. "We have been left in peace here for some time now, but a ship was blown up off here last Saturday."

Awaiting details from Miss Auld's will. Spending too much on the house will attract rates higher than current rent. The Poor Mission Fund payments of £25 per year are to be discontinued. A new church will do much good, as the Bishop said at the Norwich Congress "Englishmen will not go for their religion to a barn".
