An article by Fr Bruckberger OP which appeared in the Daily Figaro on January 24 1975 has been translated into English by Owen Roberts. "Do they take us for Idiots?" - prohibition of one rite, one liturgy, one manner of saying Mass (Mass of St Pius V). Paul VI Mass is authorised not imposed. A perpetual indult exists for the Mass of Pope St Pius V. It concludes with "Let them leave us to worship in a thousand years old rite..."

Page 1: Petition text: loss of daily Mass and related devotions following proposed re-alignment of parish boundaries; much fund-raising done for the Church; Rural nature of Downham Market parish would make it difficult for a priest based at Swaffham. Laying out the issues which the Bishop had to consider along with the historic background and identifying the parts of relevant Canon Law, the Bishop invites Fr Baker to resign as Parish Priest in Downham Market
Fr Baker's ministry is harmful being direct and open disobedience of the Holy See. A review of the documents sent by Fr Baker were considered by the Synodal Examiner and the Pro-Synodal Examiner as not a sufficient answer and his ministry was harmful. Fr Baker had refused to resign and hence the Bishop is removing him from his office as Parish Priest at Downham Market. He has to hand over to Father Sketch.

Being discredited by the Bishop for a love of the same Mass that the Bishop professes. Repudiate charge of being disobedient as he is following his conscience. Challenges the four area covered by the Bishop's secretary (Fr Morgan). Ludicrous allegation that Fr Baker's ministry is harmful - much support, sympathy and encouragement received. Will continue to offer Mass in Downham Market.
An article by Fr Bryan Houghton "This article is not written to prolong the needless controversy but to bring out the real issue which lies behind the differences between Father Baker and his Bishop...."

Signature illegible; address: Rue St Dominique, Flavigny; 4 August 1976. Text is about Le Père Barbara ("brillant et dynamique prêtre "sédévacantiste" français, décédé maintenant") arranging an event at Econe, Switzerland. The author is encouraging the reader ("Cher Confrere") to attend the event and support Archbishop Lefebvre. Specifically they do not support the "new Mass" and prefer to stay with the traditional Latin Rite. Ends with a request to let young people know about an event being planned at Lacordaire France, from 4 to 5 September.

Redemptorist publication "Christian Encounter" - reverse page for local parish notes Page 1 - printed Page 2 - "Are Traditionalists disobedient? (concluded)" - traditional mass dates from 1570 - persistent challenges to legality of New Mass - even the Pope will not invoke it as a legal instrument - its introduction is visible a mistake.
Speech by Bishop Clark on the reality of faith within a Christian church both divided and united. Whatever the doctrinal differences or theological complexities, "... tonight is a night to remember our commitment to Christ...". "The dialogue between Christian churches is a pilgrim's dialogue."
