The Season - Statue vandalised; TV publicity; next year Easter Mass will be televised
Ecumenism - describes a number of events; thanks a number of Anglican clergy
Music - continuing funding advised
Memorial Book - Mr John Lyons' enthusiasm and industry; an expensive project paid for by voluntary contributions
Finance & Major Projects - Financially the Shrine is improving; various property sales; toilets built; planned project is new lighting system for Chapel of Reconciliation
Conclusion - thanks a number of individuals associated with the Shrine for their help and support. Work has been hard but rewarding.

Pilgrim Club - not successful (Mr Warwick discussions) - discontinue serving alcohol - other licensed premises available
Visits - Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro, Cardinal D Eugenio de Araujo Sales, celebrated Mass on 11 January
Executive Meeting - delay re-roofing of amenity area
Walsingham Association - Hostel fund raising committee disbanded - raised £112,000
Shrive Archives - Fr Brian Ventham, SM has been putting archives in to good order - work well advanced - researcher (Fr W McLoughlin OSM) doing a doctorate on Our Lady of Walsingham
Ecumenical Relations - Fr Roy Fellows is new administrator of Anglican Shrine
Slipper Chapel & re-siting of Blessed Sacrament (C of R) - Tabernacle resiting not finished - discussing design with Architect, Mr Brian Salter
Amenities Area - going to tender shortly
Pilgrimage Programme - Pilgrim bookings up by 2,000 - cancellations at 1,500. This year marks 100th anniversary of the Guild of Our Lady of Ransom. BBC video "A Year in Walsingham" to be shown on Good Friday

Winter about completing building works and planning for the next season (theme Evangelization); 1990 centenary of Cardinal Newman's death; Pope wants next decade to 2000 to characterise evangelisation - Walsingham has a part to play.

First report in post. Overview of situation, long time to address damaged relationships, re-sizing of executive committee helped, so too did reorganisation (Mr Warwick & Br Hawkes his deputies). Impressed by the staff and their willingness and generosity and sensitivity towards the pilgrims.
