Enclosed letter describes a situation on which Fr Sloan requests guidance. A divorcee "re-married" some time after her divorce has been taken Communion and had her confession heard. She is elderly and her husband expects marital relations. She would like to have Communion - that is the problem.

I remember the confirmation day; Fr Rudd had arranged a holiday (in Denmark) and the Bp decided to visit but said not to change his holiday. Bp left at 2pm with Fr Rudd leaving at 3pm - must have forgotten the [confirmation] list but will put one before him to send on when he returns.

Fr Sloan advised that if the relationship was "brother and sister" then she could receive communion. However, that is not the case. What might the solution be?
