Bishop noted that not content with rebuilding Buckfast, Fr Abbot was looking for fresh fields to conquer. Tells him that ruins of Ramsey Abbey & the modern mansion are to be sold. Bishop would be delighted if he was drawn to this old home of St Benedict.

His action on cheques to Ollard. The stained glass windows arrived yesterday but no candlesticks. Fear they must have been sold at the Sale. What a nuisance! Thanks for congrats on anniversary of consecration, wishes someone else had had the honour.

Annotated postscript: "You have to send the certificates of their marriage to the parish of each, that is why you must know where they were baptised. Please be very careful and accurate about this."

Bishop returns drawing of Altar. He does not like it; it is too like a couple of boxes. Those he showed it to thought it was a vestment chest & liked it as such. But, if Fr Clare wants it, has found money for it & subscribers like it, he can have it.
