Biographical history
Mr Mallamphy became involved with the Guild of Our Lady of Ipswich around 1984. He made a trip to Nettuno and took dimensions from the Madonna statue there and used them subsequently in his work in Ipswich: the Statue of Our Lady of Grace in the church of St Mary at the Elms, Ipswich, was carved by him; the bronze relief of Our Lady of Ipswich and bronze plaque to be found installed on a wall in Lady Lane, Ipswich, were commissioned by him through contacts with a foundary.
September 1927: born, Cork, Ireland. He studied at Crawford College of Art and Design at Cork 1943-1946, before joining the Royal Air Force as an aircraft engineer, afterwards working with civil airlines. He married at Ipswich in 1954, Anthea E. Williams. Retaining his contact with Cork as a member of the National Sculpture Factory, he was also a member of the Ipswich Art Club exhibiting from 675 Foxhall Road, Ipswich in 1979, 'Bealings Autumn' and in 1980 'Shades of Illusion'. He is also a sculptor and in 1990 designed the bronze 'Our Lady of Grace' now sited in Lady Lane, Ipswich which is based on an original now in a chapel at Nettuno, Italy. He died at Woodbridge Lodge Residential Home in Suffolk on 5 July 2016.

Ground plan drawings needed (according to Architect, Mr Hatcher) are subject to copyright and may be time consuming and expensive to obtain. Builders estimates depend on the plans being approved by IHCT and Borough Council. Defective flood lighting and fittings have been fixed - skateboarders still inflicting damage to the seating in the garden. Archaeologists to confirm dates for dig (need to place pews in storage)
