            Writing from home in Beccles. Report enclosed. Wiser about not doing too much - even when there is a lot to do. Dr Helsham is improving. Supplied at Gillingham Hall, Fr Pillot CRP is back next week (currently in Holland with his sick father).

            Finally obtained a supply, Dom Bede Rose DD OSB of an American Congregation, who is staying with Mrs Kenyon in Gillingham. Has letters from his Abbot; has missionary experience; met our priests in Rome. Request faculties for him and three weeks leave. One week will be at Downside for an annual retreat. Builders are reviewing the building. Bishop not forgot the rebate on the Banham Fund?

            Fr Mostyn (Our Lady & S. Joseph, Hanwell, London) thanks the bishop for allowing Fr Rolamson and he to say mass in a boat - they had advertised the masses in a boating establishment and the offerings will be sent to the Parish Priest at North Walsham. Fr Mostyn will be supplying at Gillingham Hall that weekend.

            Currently at Stanbrook seeing her daughter who is a nun in the Abbey. Having spoken to Fr Campbell the notice to Fr Vermuelen has been withdrawn. However he has had a stroke, is in Beccles hospital, and it is too early for a prognosis. Arrangements for a supply at Gillingham Hall had been made.

Her son Joseph's mental illness is not improving, would the Bishop remember him when at Lourdes?
