Revd Christopher Warner writes. United service in St Mary's to celebrate Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Salvation Army, Pentacostalists, Anglicans, Methodists, Baptists, United Reform, Quaker - all shares in the service introduced and led by Fr John Reid. A real gift of Clergy and congregations to share together in Christian Fellowship. Hence, with real sadness to learn of the Augustinian;s plans to move out. Because of RC participation in things ecumenical he expresses a real longing that whoever comes afterwards feels comfortable with continuing the ecumenical links.

pg 1: 4 questions in French
pg 2: translation of the 4 questions:
- Six years ago, on 25 March 1976, you said of the relationship between the Catholic and Anglican Churches that "our sister Churches can now regard the past as dead and buried." Today, after all the work accomplished by the Join Anglican-Catholic Commission, what moves are possible which would permit a step forward to be taken?
- What are the principle obstacles at the moment to a decisive step towards the unity of the two churches?
- You have taken part in meetings of the British Council of Churches. What is the present nature of the Catholic Church's participation? Is there a prospect of full membership in the relatively near future?
- What do you expect in general from the Holy Father's visit, and in particular, in the field of ecumenism?

Description of the day of prayer, starting and finishing at the two cathedrals in Norwich. Two pupils will meet the pope as representatives of the Catholic Diocese of East Anglia.
Rev EW Allworthy thanks Fr Wace for an amusing and friendly letter - "I don't take too seriously some of your statements as I understand you are excused from telling the truth to a heretic". He is not referring to the middle ages but to 1968. The Roman Church has laws in abeyance, not rescinded, that require heretics to be put to death. It may be surprising but he has good friends in the Roman Church. It makes no sense to be united with the Church of Rome as it would cause disunity with his own congregation.
CorrespondentRev EW Allworthy writes that he cannot accept an invitaion to the event organised by the Roman Church as there is little ecumenism being displayed as the Roman Chgurch is attempting a takeover. Some quotes from the Lord's Prayer. As a consientious son of the Church of England he is regarded by the Roman Churhc as an heretic to be put to death.
