Publication note
Last published edition of the St Francis Magazine. Editorial Notes [pg 184, this edition]
"This is to be the last issue of St Francis Magazine. It has never succeeded in paying its way - indeed it has always been published at considerable loss. The expense was generously borne by our Bishop, while he was Rector of St Francis Home. He is unwilling to lay the burden on other shoulders, and it is felt that the usefulness of the Magazine hardly justifies that burden. Extinction is a common fate of publications and reflects nothing at all on their merit. Some will doubtless miss the Magazine in future and will regret its cessation, but they will realize, knowing the facts of the case, that it is inevitable."
