Kearney, Nicholas Rev , MA, Mag Theol, Lic PhilProgramme for Visitation on 28 November. Opportunity to have tea with John Major MP. Social arranged to meet the parishioners. Kearney, Nicholas Rev , MA, Mag Theol, Lic PhilBishop has agreed to attend St Ives for Confirmation on 14 January 1996. Confirmation Mass is to be held at 2.30pm since 11am Mass in their small church would be crowded and uncomfortable. Offers lunch to the Bishop (manuscript annotation: lunch circled and "Yes Noon"). Fr Kerby has to be at Swavesey for a 4.30pm Mass. Mentions 30 children for Confirmation - under instruction since September, not all attend regularly, parents are good practising Catholics.
Kerby, Raymond Rev (?-2009)Ad clerum states Confirmation now only for 14+ age group. But some in the parish are ready for 12+ and waiting for it. Mothers show signs of disquiet. On 24th May would the bishop allow this concession?
Kerby, Raymond Rev (?-2009)Thanks the Bishop for the card marking the 34 years since Fr Kerby's ordination. All well during Holy Week & Easter - Sunday Masses particularly full - a good core of people who have the interests of the parish very much at heart. Thanks to the ladies, the Church looked splendid on Easter morning with a great amount of flower arrangements. Apologises for not providing warm water, soap and a towel - will do better next time - in October.
Kerby, Raymond Rev (?-2009)Eleven children in Saturday morning class at St Ives. Regularly attending (more or less) for the past 5 to 6 years. Last year's lessons they were taught about Confirmation as a general preparation. Disquiet used to describe the bristling mothers do if their children's interests are affected. If bishop decides to go for 14+ then numbers may decline during the year.
