This was in two main pieces - a heavy wooden folding table & a large wooden case made of marine plywood with aluminium protective moulding on all corner edges. The case has a detachable lid which when removed allowed the altar top to be unfolded outwards - under this folding top were stowed all the altar requisites.
This was the altar I left at Mr St John Foti's museum at Downham Market.

Associated note [undated]: " Copy of Authentication for relic of St Philip Howard. The original of the Authentication and the relic were placed in the main altar of St John's Cathedral on 4th August 2007. The Relic was given to St John's in the silver container in this cardboard box but was removed from it for insertion in the altar."
Agrees that the Chapel of Reconciliation is a "wonder". The gift [£25] will be sent to the Appeal committee.
"The Pope, of course said what I wanted him to say 0 and then did what I never imagined he would! Put the statue like an icon on the altar (the liturgists were embarrassed - but when HH says "put, you put)..."
Will present the estimates to the Finance Board. Has not forgotten the altar consecration on 30th November. What are you financial resources for what you intend doing?
