The Congregation of Our Lady of Mercy began in Dublin on 12th December 1831 by Catherine McAuley and two companions Mary Anne Doyle and Elizabeth Harley. The Weymouth Community had its foundational roots in Aldeburgh, Suffolk under Sister Mary Francis Boulger from Abingdon.
